Safe to delete files under Norton temp folder

I'm running Norton 22.10.0.85 on Windows 10 and am trying to clean up disk space.  One of the biggest folders on my PC is a temp folder under the Norton program data folder.  The exact folder is

C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\NSBU_22.5.4.24\Temp

This folder contains 346 files and an hlinks subfolder, also containing 346 files, totaling 16.6 GB.  The majority of the files are named something like bu1AA8.tmp.  Since the folder is named NSBU, I assume it has something to do with the Norton backup program.  Are those incremental backups queued up or something like that?  For a long time my Norton backup didn't run due to being out of space on my online account, now I've disabled Norton backup completely.

Can I safely delete everything under this Temp folder?

Thanks very much.
