Safe to temp'ly disable Norton to test Internet performance?

Issue abstract: Is it safe to temporarily disable Norton 360 so I can see what effect that has on Internet speed?

I’d like to temporarily disable Norton 360 on my Windows 10 desktop, to see if that affects my Internet speed. My concern is whether that’s safe to do!

If I disable Norton 360, will Windows built-in protection (e.g. Windows Defender) automatically take over, to protect my computer?

To run the experiment, should I disable the Norton 360 Smart Firewall, or the Auto-Protect, or both?

Advice on how to safely run this experiment would be welcome!

Product & version number: Norton 360 version 25.11.10580

OS details: Windows 10 64-bit Pro, fully up to date (including Extended Security Updates)

If you just disable Smart Firewall and Auto Protect Windows Defender will not take over. If you uninstall Norton, Defender will be reactivated.
