I have a website (www.msebooks.com) which is an e-commerce template site from Tiger Commerce. As such, because it's a template, it's not always possible to modify every aspect of the site. However, it is possible to add a meta tag into the head section of the home page.
So, I registered my site with Safe Web to get it verified. I then received an e-mail from Norton which contained the meta tag code for the head section. I copied and pasted this code into the head section. To confirm the meta tag code exists on my home page and is where it should be - it is - I used Firebug to view the tag. However, when I click the 'Verify my site ownership' link, I get the message 'Web site ownership verification failed...'
Any thoughts, suggestions and help in overcoming this problem will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
