After backing up with Norton Ghost (v15.0.1.36526) to an external USB drive, I am unable to use 'Safely Remove Hardware' to dismount it.
This was the subject of a topic about a year ago when AllenM came up with the workaround of stopping the Norton Ghost service using Start, Run, 'services.msc'. This does the job, and is much simpler than the alternatives, but is not ideal. Despite much work, she was unable to solve the problem.
Like the earlier poster, I am also using NIS (v18.5.0.125 in this case) which was implicated in the problem although stopping that does not help. From my reading of the situation, this is actually a very common problem though it is extraordinarily difficult to find anything about it on this forum, or anywhere else.
Has anybody made any progress in fixing this issue?
