Hi folks,
I'm tearing my hair out trying to get to the bottom of this one. When my son is logged in, but not on the computer (even when another user is using it) we get regular notices that a "social networking" site is being accessed (and blocked). We've also been having some trouble with the Norton Firewall being turned off, and the virus scan appearing not to have occurred (even though I've run the full scan manually several times.
The site that is being accessed is "clients2.googleusercontent.com/crx/download/NwAAAO7o891ed-vo3wOxX11_Jlaq2y1QdeDCzB_iHU9PfxNiOkb7q6ZwAyWELP1Pl1Y5gg_9v3oA/Extension_2_2.crx"
This is, as I understand it, a Google Chrome extension (which is executable code). So it seems to me that a trojan was somehow installed on our home computer and is trying to execute code on the server. The Norton Anti-Virus isn't detecting anything, but perhaps it's not working.
Any ideas on what's going on? I'm also posting this on the Norton Anti Virus site.
Thanks for your help.
Tom
