Hello, last night I did a new install of Norton 360 and shortly afterward attempted to install Safety Minder. The Safety Minder install failed and the error logs were sent. Attempting to install again only causes the routine to compress error logs and end the routine. The Safety Minder program never installed, so you can't use the Windows Add/Remove Program routine to remove it. There are some directories that looks like were installed with Safety Minder that are still sitting there, which makes me think the registry has been whacked by the failed install. So what do I do now?
Please read the Private Message I just sent you when you get a chance. You could access this message by clicking on the icon in the upper right hand corner of the page.
The solution to this dilemma was to use the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall everything Norton, reinstall Norton 360, and then install the Safety Minder program. It's unfortunate that the Norton install and uninstall routines are still unreliable after all these years, but it did eventually work. My special thanks to Katie Q for spending time with me to attempt to get things working with out resorting to the Removal Tool!

There has GOT to be a better way than to simply blanket "us ethe Remove Tool" every time there is a problem with a Norton product....which is almost every month/week...YMMV. I am getting very tired of doing the "Norton Remove / ReInstall/Re-Setup Everything Dance".
Good products, but too termperamental and they don't play well with others.....they'd be GREAT products if the various bugs and incompatibilities could be resolved without having to do the dance every time.
We actually always try to resolve the issue by looking for alternative ways.Using Remove Tool has never been the first choice to uninstall Norton Safety Minder. Please let us know if you have any issues when trying to uninstall the program.
