Sandboxie is full compatible with NIS 2009?

Hello again for all members!

 

Today i install sandboxie to have more protection for me, but i see one issue. When sandboxie is active, liveupdate give me an error, i run liveupdate manualy, and i see. I close sandboxie, and the update is correctly instaled. Why this hapen?

I use Sandboxie and Sandboxie has nothing to do with Norton or Live Update. Sandbox covers your browser. Unless you Sandboxed your entire drive.

Latest Sandboxie version is 3.31.22. How did you configure your Sandbox? What is the error code you get?

Yes, the version 3.30 occourr the error, and the last version just work fine :)

How did you configure Sandboxie? Sandboxie has nothing to do with Norton. Please answer my question. I am curious to your problem.

I have in the initial the version 3.30, the oficial version to download in the first page of sandboxie. I don´t touch any configuration in sandboxie, and i see the liveupdate is not properly working, so, i close the sandboxie (version 3.30) and the liveupdate is ok.

I install next the last version, 3.31.22, and the combo work fine, liveupdate is Ok :)

Ok your misunderstanding me. When you install Sandboxie it covers your browser in a Sandbox. It doesnt cover your pc or any other programs. You should have a good understanding of what Sandboxie does before installing it. I run Firefox under a sandbox and it has nothing to do with Live Update. Please read the main page of Sandboxie to get a better understanding of how it works.Unless you configured Sandboxie to cover your entire pc then Sandboxie did not cause your Live Update error.

Yes, iknow, the sandboxie only run what you propouse to run. But the liveupdate occurr error in the instalation of updates, next, i close sandboxie, and the updates is correct installed. I change too the last version and the problem disapear. Here in the forum have another case, and hapen the same error, so, the last version resolve this issue :)

Sorry I give up. Your problem with Live Update was not caused by Sandboxie. If you told me the error code I could have pointed you in the right direction. Once again Sandboxie protects your web browser. I does not protect Live Update and has nothing to do with it. Glad the new version seemed to help you but your problem with Live Update most likely will return.

But the toolbar in firefox with the 3.30 version don´t run, so, the last version correct this too :)

Yes the toolbar did not work with previous versions of Sandboxie. This is why they released a new version.

I see you signature, then i install to view the protection, and is great.

It could have been. Sandboxie just recently patched the problems in a special update. They even beta tested this new sandboxie version

Not to fix Live Update issues. See here. Live Update doesn't run under a sandbox. Only your browser.

Correct and that was not what I was saying. I just said sandboxie recently updated their softwareto be more compatible with NIS2009

Only the toolbar Stu and that problem was fixed back in the beginning of October. The toolbar would come up gray and you were not able to access it. Live Update still worked fine.

 

 

 Compatibility with Third Party Software:

o The default Resource Access exclusion for KeyScramber has been revised.

o Norton Internet Security 2009 toolbar should work fine inside a sandboxed Internet Explorer.

(3.31.04)

o Support for the recent versions of the McAfee Site Advisor.
