I do not know if I am posting in the right place or not, but here goes. I am preparing to install a new mother board, CPU, and memory. I plan on doing a new install of Win 7 . I would like to download Norton 2012 and save it to disk or my secondary drive. So that I can reinstall Norton 2012 as soon I finish the Win 7 install. This way I don't have to expose my fresh install to the internet without protection! If anyone can give some advice, I would sure apprecate it! And if I am posting to the wrong place, please tell me where to go and how to get there! Thank you.
You don't say which Norton you have -- Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVIrus or Norton 360 .....
If you tell us which it is we can give you a link to download a single installation file that you can put on a thumbdrive or CD and use to install from. It will be more uptodate than what you might have on a retail CD.
So let us know and if it should be Norton 360 whether it is the Standard (2GB of free online storage) or Premier (25GB of free online storage) and we can point you in the right direction.
Let us know if you are reinstalling Windows using a PC maker's Restore to Factory Condition disk rather than a "pure" Windows 7 installation disk since the first will often install a trial version of a security application that needs to be uninstalled and cleaned up and we can give you instructions on that.
