When I exit Save & Restore 2.0 (fully Live Updated on Windows XP computer), I get the following error: Norton Save and Restore has encountered a problem and needs to close." The Windows Event Viewer>Applications Log shows this error:
This problem just started and only occurs when I exit S&R whether I run a full backup or just open the program and close it. I have uninstalled NET Framework 2.0, used the NET Cleanup Tool from Microsoft to 'scrub' it, started S&R and followed the prompts to install NET Framework 2.0, and updated it with Service Pack 1. Computer restarts after each uninstall and reinstall. I cannot find anything that I have done differently to cause this error. Event Viewer logs and the S&R log show successful backups and the Recovery Point Browser shows the backup is valid. Should I be concerned about this since it only occurs on exit (is this just a "cosmetic" error that doesn't really affect S&R)? I have S&R installed on an identical Dell laptop and it does not have this problem. I even compared the running Services line by line on each laptop and Task Manager running items. I searched this forum and Googled but couldn't find any applicable solutions.

I will do so in the next couple of days but I am wondering how that could help this issue since the nearly identical Dell laptop does not have the problem using NET Framework 2.0 with Service Pack 1 and this problem just recently began. Thanks for the advice and I will post back.
The reason I suggested to install dot net 3.5 and dot net 3.5 service pack was that the Microsoft® .NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable includes everything you need to test .NET Compact Framework 1.0, 2.0 and 3.5 applications. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 is a full cumulative update that contains many new features building incrementally upon .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, and includes cumulative servicing updates to the .NET Framework 2.0 and .NET Framework 3.0 subcomponents.
I wound up uninstalling S&R and re-installing it. Twice. The first re-install went fine, but after the Live Update, when I started S&R there was a line of "Boolean..." errors and the menu screen on S&R was blank. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and ran the Live Update again and everything went smoothly. I have started and stopped S&R several times now with no NET Framework error message when I exit and it seems to be operating correctly.
