“Customer service” is a total joke. They take your money and run. Plenty of companies that are better, more respectful, and honest than Norton. Take your business elsewhere.
What exactly is your complaint? Is there something we can help you with?
Your response reinforces the complaint. Thank you. ![]()
@Chemdawg We Gurus DO NOT work for nor are we Norton employees, we are here to donate our time and help resolve issues that have no other avenue for a possible solution. If you’d give us something to work with, there are ways for us to escalate your issue, and, get you some action for a resolution. We intervene all the time, so what may we be of assistance with?
Regards,

Norton’s applications are full of nagware. Calling customer service is terrible. I’ve called in three times and stated “no” to initiating the activity on my credit report and each time they act like it is the first time they have heard that from me. The same complaints that everyone else on here has are absolutely legitimate. Had to call in a 4th time and they tried a mediation call after 20 minutes on hold I had to hang up to attend to business. I just called back and now at the beginning of the process again. I reiterate: this company is a SCAM. This is more for others to see so they can avoid the waste of money and headache. A company with no complaint department and outsourcing their community to “volunteers” is very telling. Now I’m being told the company that needs to be contacted is closed for the holiday on December 2 and then she came back and said “oh actually they’re just closed for the day, you can call yourself tomorrow." I DO NOT PAY TO HANDLE MY OWN CASE. That is the whole point of this “protection.” There needs to be a thorough investigation into the practices of this company.
Thanks for providing that for us. Next step going forward is for us to escalate this thread to our main Norton administrator. They will ensure in a timely manner get this to the appropriate Norton team for action. Next step on your part is watch for a private message from a Norton employee to privately discuss what you need Norton to have a look at.
As a reference of said nag notification please allow me to share one with you I recently got.
And another:
There are many, and, it has been brought to the attention Norton once already. So I personally am in your camp with what almost all Norton users are seeing. As well as the responses being doled out by support, IE there not being any references to previous conversations via a ticket assignment to fall back onto. Please give this a bit of time since we do not know how fast or slow the internals of Norton are. We promise you that we WILL follow-up and do our level best to get some answers for you.

I was also told that the agents are not allowed to give out their names or employee numbers. Therefore, no accountability whatsoever. I just have the date and timestamp of the call and the first “name” (not their actual name of course, just whatever they use to make you think you’re not calling some offshore call center) of the agent. “No supervisors are available” or “they have gone home for the day” and she will call me back tomorrow 12/03 at 10:00AM CST. We will see what happens. Again, for all you people out there reading this. Do your research and avoid Norton at all costs. They like to tell you that you are covered. And theoretically you are; however, the real nasty side is they tie you up so bad that you’ll never get to use what you pay for unless you sue them.
Also, if you want someone that speaks understandable English; well sorry, that’s only for when they are selling the product to you ![]()
Surprise! LOL today they are “still not able to contact the merchant” and will calling me back again at 3:00PM. This marks attempt number 7.
Merchant? Did you purchase directly from Norton or a third party? And are you absolutely positive you are speaking to Norton support?

I’m using their language. The company that’s name is showing on the credit inquiry is who they are referring to. Have to call them on the mediation call to determine the legitimacy. I bought directly from Norton and yes I am speaking with Norton.
Ok thanks.
