Floplot did ask Norton to check them out and they are on it so hang around for more news.

The more I looked into them, like Floplot says, the more worried I get especially if you start digging into the phone numbers they use ......

Yes it was a scam computer was full of malware & installed Malwarebytes to get rid of it all will have to do a full factory reset.

just so everyone knows its a scam and don't let them remote access your computer you will be sorry if you do they install Norton and take over an hour to do it ask for $600 then drop it to 229 for 3 year Norton licence its really sad that they are targeting old people & making their old computers even worse of then they were.

im changing all the passwords & everything hopefully keeps them out of relatives computer. if not getting a new one might be the best bet!

Hello

A Google check just now for that company, I didn't see anything good about it on the first page of Google..

Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear another sad story. If they paid by credit card and the service was unsatisfactory and it was not too long ago your relative could enter a Dispute with the credit card company. It's easy to do and usually you get a suspension of the charge while the credit card company sorts it out for you.

Have a look at the disclaimer that comes up in a Google Search on [ scalixpro ] -- it's top of the list of references  this produces and takes you to http://scalixpro.com/disclaimer.html

It's very very carefully worded and reads like somebody's legal department jumped on them.

Have a look at their "About"  --

Scalixpro is the most devoted client assistance service provider and gratify our client's demand. We always assure you safety of your system like a barrier for ...

They may be based in Florida but their sentence construction is not ...

More than a feeling, I am afraid, and IMO if they really are an authorized Symantec dealer they should not behave like that, and I'm therefore bringing this case to the attention of Norton.

The genuine Symantec/Norton Customer Support would never contact a user unless they were previously contacted by the user himself/herself  and are therefore returning the call. For future needs please contact them using this link http://www.norton.com/chat
