Scan in Progress dialogue box for 2012 Norton Internet Security Scheduled Scans Not Working

Are these scheduled scans or user-initiated scans, or both?  There has been some mention here recently that the progress box does not appear with scheduled scans:

My Issue: Scheduled scans do not provide a progress box.  The manual scans provide the progress box. 

 

I agree with Alexander that the progress window is useful and quite honestly I would like to see this issue fixed. 

 

What is the procedure for moving this up the Norton food chain?
