Scan not working

NIS v20.2.0.19

Windows 8 Pro 64bit

 

Yesterday the NIS tray icon had a "!" and advised a scan. I goto run scan and it fails.

 

Quick Scan pops up a new dialog box with "Initializing..." and then nothing happens. Closing the box pops a new dialog to confirm cancel. I choose Yes. The Quick scan dialog remains and can't be closed.

 

Full System Scan pops up a new dialog box with "Initializing..." briefly then "Error during scan." Zero files scanned. The dialog is closable. Nothing happens when I click Full System Scan a second time.

 

NIS patched itself a few days ago. I wonder if that didn't knock out the scan function.

 

Anyone else getting this?
