Hi guys. Starting with Norton 360 V26.5xxx, all of a sudden when I would scan just one file (explorer scan?) it does scan but no longer tells you if the file is clean or not in the little pop up box that no longer is there. Is anybody experiencing this through V 26.6?
Yes I know, now you have to open app> go to history>choose the recent explorer scan, and get the results there. That BS!!!
Yes indeed, its still the same on the latest update version 26.6.11050 (build 26.6.11050.985). I just open “see results” in the pop up box “scan from windows explorer” results in the Norton UI.
Hey SA. Hope you’re doing well. I’m not understanding you. If you download a jpeg or mp3 to your desktop, and you right click that one file, it will say “Scan selected item for viruses, does it do it, then show you a pop up box right next to the file telling you if it’s safe or not?

Hey BJM, apparently we are not on the same page here. All you have to do please is just choose any file on your computer, right click on it, and click so that Norton scans the file. They uses to put a pop up right after the 5 second scan letting you know right next to THAT file if it’s safe or not. Why are you reqyesting I send you an app or showing me settings and scan history?
I never had that setting enabled. But you’re right. One last question please. Is it going to be sending me all sorts of notifications that are not necessary?
Hello @majorbuzz
fwiw ~ I’ve always run with that setting enabled. Norton notices do not annoy me. Just me.
Caveat: I run Smart Scan at Manual and seldom call Smart Scan.
To me, smart scan is nothing more than a ply for Norton to tell you how many things it can fis … FOR A PRICE! I stay far away from it. I left the setting on, and just take it as it comes. Thanks so much BJM for your help. It is more than appreciated.
