Under winxp sp3 I have changed the windows assigned temp folder under System Properties, Advanced, Environment Variables, User variables, to a different folder on another hard drive. Whenever I right click and scan this folder with NIS 2009 16.5.0.135 it will scan a few files and then always get hung up on 1 file. The screen says 1 File Being Processed…1 File remaining… and it just stays that way forever. The Pause button and Stop Scan button are greyed out and can’t be clicked. I can’t exit the window cause it tells me it’s processing threats or something. It just hangs and keeps using CPU. The only way to stop is it turn off product tampering and end the processes in task manager. Afterwards it may or may not start back up when I try to run NIS again then I have to restart pc. Does anyone know why NIS does this?
