Scheduled scan interrupts full-screen applications

I used the schedule option to schedule a full system scan on Sunday nights. I happened to be playing a game when the scan kicked in and minimized my game window.

I realize the schedule uses the Windows Task Scheduler but the problem is it doesn't fill out any of the "settings" tab which means the scan runs wether you're doing something or not (in particular the following):

  • Only start the task if the computer has been idle at least...
  • Stop the task if the computer ceases to be idle

Now if you feel these options reduce security, shouldn't the schedule at least contain one of the commandline switches that disables the UI (if they even exist anymore):

  • /noresults (from NIS 2005)
  • /automation (from NIS 2009)
