Hi,

I tried to remove NISS2007, using NRT via symantex site as below

but when I run Secunia PSI, it reported

1)This installation of Symantec Norton Internet Security 2007 was detected as being patched.
2)This installation of Symantec Windows LiveUpdate 3.x was detected as being patched.

I tried to click add/remove program Windows, both did not appear in windows add.remove program.

I tried to click Open Folder (from secunia Tool Box) /swsetup/................/setup/setup/app/.... many files left over, m not sure if these files are from NISS

Thanks for your prompt respond.

1) I remove NISS 2007 because I try run ZoneAlarmSS.  

2) it came across this secunia sites, and i try to see how this Secunia PSI work to check my system vulnerablity

    and It detected NISS still inside the system, the NRT did not completely remove it.

3) OS = Vista Home x.32.

Run this Removal Tool again.

 

Then go to C > Program Files and delete all folders named Symantec and Norton. Do the same in C > Program Files > Common Files.

have tried to run Removal Tools, and restart windows..

go to c:/proram files.  did not find Symantex/ Norton Folder, and in  Program files/common files - no symantec folders

I am a bit confused by your post and hope you can clarify a few items for me.

 

1) You state that you tried to remove NIS 2007 and then ran Secunia? For what purpose?

2) The link to the Norton Removal Tool is not correct unless by navigating through the page you were able to get to this Removal Tool.

3) What is the concern with the patches?

4) If you removed NIS2007, then neither NIS 2007 nor Live Update would appear in Add-Remove Programs as they were uninstalled.

5) What operating system are you using?

 

Last, but not least, what is your final goal - to update to the newer version of NIS or just remove Norton?
