Secure Online Storage

How do I activate this, please?

I've just replaced 360 Premier with standard 360 and the option for Online Storage is not available under "Where" in Manage Backup Sets.

Have I missed something here?

Hi,

It sounds like it. Have you activated, rebooted, run live update and rebooted?

Thanks

Yes, I've done all those things.

I've got 366 days subscription left and I've done several manual live updates as well as several reboots.

"Where" shows my hard drive partitions but no internet.

Several automatic live updates over past 24 hours but still no internet storage option!

Can anyone help me, please?

Well, if nobody can supply a solution, where do I go from here, please?

Hi TightGit,

Try the following steps:

  • Open Norton 360's main client.
  • Click on Manage on the right hand side.
  • Click on Log Out located to the right. It is a darker grey color so it may be a little hard to see.
  • Once done close Norton 360 and re-open it.
  • Go back to Manage again and re-login to the Norton Account.
  • Once completed go back to the main Norton 360 screen and click on Backup.
  • Click on Restore Files.
  • Click on View All
  • There will be a link on the bottom of the next screen that says Refresh List.
  • It'll connect to storage from there and retrieve your past backup history - if you have any.
  • Select the set and click Close.
  • Close out of Norton 360 and give the system a restart to be safe.
  • Once its back up verify if online backup has properly activated.

Many thanks for your assistance, but still not working!

Having got as far as your line 8 and clicked "View All", I see "Click here to activate your secure online storage".

Great, I thought, but clicking this and refresh list in turn does nothing.

And the Accounts page still says "Online backup not activated".

Any more ideas, please?

Hi TightGit

There likely is another issue preventing the activation from working. Can you shoot me a private message with the following:

  • The email address associated to your Norton account
  • A link to this forum post so I have a point of reference.

From there I can check into the actual subscription and see if there is a problem there.

Thank you Mr Welty.

I'm nearly 70 and not very good with computers!

I can (just about) manage a link, but how do I "pm" you, please?

Hi TightGit,

What is the error message you get when you click on 'Click here to activate your online storage'

Thanks!

No error message, it just doesn't do anything!

We'll need to look at the account and see if there is any account related issues. Can you send me a private message with the following please:

  • The email address associated to your Norton account. The same one you used to activate service.
  • A link to this forum so I have a point of reference.
  • Anything else you think may help.

Click his name in one of his posts. On the next page that will open, look on the right side at the contact infomation. There will be a link to send him a Private Message (PM).

Thanks, Cohbraz.

I'm now in contact with Mr Welty, so hopefully a resolution to my problem will be forthcoming shortly.

Alas, I seem to have been abandoned by Mr Welty, who I haven't heard from for a week.

Since I still have the problem, could anyone else assist me, please?

Hi,

I'm not an expert on this, but you might want to check whether your new subscription includes on line storage. I know that the amount of storage varies depending on which subscription you have so I guess it is also possible that you don't get any online storage if you downgrade from Norton Premier to the standard 360 product?

Just a thought.............

John

Thanks John, but it definately says I should have 2GB on-line storage on the box!

Having previously had 25GB (which I didn't use) with Premier should make no difference, as I uninstalled Premier before installing standard 360 from a new disk.

TightGit,

Sorry for the delay. I've been tied up in another matter which was using all of my time. I'll check into your matter shortly.

Many thanks, I'll await your reply with interest.

You should have a private message from me. It's requesting contact details so we can get this matter resolved.
