SecureVPN will not start (running macOS Catalina)

Guess what?  Unfortunately, the last update corrected the problem only for few days...  VPN still not available this morning!

Thanks for the update! Great news.

Could you please tell what version / build of the Norton software you are now running?

Thanks

Credit where credit is due.

Yesterday a Norton tech called and informed me of an update push and asked to wait a day and he would call for confirmation.  I did not see any update push so I reinstalled Norton 360 on my MacPro and iMac with success.  The VPN is running.

Tech called this morning and I informed him of my actions.  He asked to call on Tuesday to confirm that all was working properly.

Very pleased with the actions of this technician.  I've received three callbacks and an apology when it was 5 minutes later than scheduled.  Norton VPN is now working on my MacBook Air and iMac running Catalina 10.15.2 and my MacPro running Mojave 10.14.6.

Good to hear you're getting traction and attention.

I did connect with a Level 2 technician who went through a rather lengthy procedure on my MacBook Air and called me back when the connection dropped on my MacPro.  VPN now works on the Air and I expect to work with the tech tomorrow after he calls me to do the same to my other Macs.

No indication of what was done other than what was possibly a patch with a download of diagnostic information.  The tech was knowledgeable and did call me back.

I will post an update tomorrow.

Just cancelled.  Full refund "on the way"

To cancel go to your account and turn off automatic renewal.  There's a chat button that will take you to a chat window and a service rep who will try to offer you 90 free days....of what?  norton headaches??...no thanks.   Just keep telling them you want a refund....   got it...  I'm gone.  Good luck brothers and sisters!

I removed it once and for all.

Ahhhhhhh.   Bliss.

I have been fighting this exact problem since day one with my Norton 360. It has gotten to the point where I am re-installing the product every couple days...and I'm tired of it. I've turned off my auto-renew and have no plans to turn it back on (nor re-subscribe if the problem goes on past my expiration date). I'm already looking for an alternative so I can let NORTON go since it appears from the above that Norton has been zero help on this. HELLO NORTON...DOES ANYBODY THERE READ ANY OF THESE POSTS?

Still working this issue on my three Macs.

I have been on chat support three different times, twice I was passed on to the next level and then forgotten.  Waited over 30 minutes for the next level to take over the chat without success.

Called customer support and was passed on to the next level which I was told required a call to me which would happen in three hours.  The call never came.

Tomorrow I will once again work through chat although not hopeful.

Tired of waiting for Norton to do anything about this. I've reinstalled the damn thing a number of times on two machines, and still experience the same problems as everyone else here.

It's now gone completely, and they've lost me as a customer altogether. Plenty of alternatives for the functionality out there.

HELLO!!!

NORTON SUPPORT!!

IS ANYONE HOME!!

I'm running Windows 10, latest build, and am having the same problem.  I've re-installed several times only to have the Secure VPN not start from the MyNorton panel after a couple of days.  As everyone else seems to agree, this is an unacceptable solution.

One of the reasons I moved to 360 is because of the VPN feature.  Please advise what your plans and timing are to resolving this problem.

Thank you.

Me too.  Sierra 10.12.6; Norton 8.5.3.
VPN disappears from the open App and the toolbar dropdown.
Frequent computer crashes (daily)
Removed and reinstalled Norton four times now.
Spent an hour with Norton chat help yesterday...nice agent, but all he did was what I've already done--remove/reinstall.
Norton, you gotta fix this.

Same issue here.

Hoping for some solution or update.

Symantec are you listening?

I too am surprised by Symantec's apparent silence on the Norton 360 VPN problems with MacOS Catalina. There are now several threads here on it and the consumer ratings websites show rapidly diminishing ratings. Surely it's better to acknowledge there is a problem rather than just keep everyone in the dark. As for me, I've turned off auto-renewal and will just run down my 360 subscription and then switch to something else. If they can provide a simple fix (without me having to spend ages liaising with Technical Support) I will think again.

Same problem - glad I'm not the only one. I have intentionally left the Norton programs alone after installation and like jsenderovitz, the VPN just stops working and then ultimately disappears from the "My Norton" dashboard. Very frustrating to have to reinstall Norton 360 every several days. Can't Symantec at least acknowledge they are aware of this and are working on the problem? Reinstallation twice a week is not a solution!
