Security blocking access to son's homework on school VLE

Hi

We've tried disabling Smart Firewall but we still can't access the school VLE, our java is up to date, we've cleared our cache, we've tried it in IE and Chrome the error message we get says our security settings are blocking access.

Please help, my son can't do his homework! (He obviously isn't bothered by this, but of course Mum is!)

We are on Windows 7
