Whenever I try to log-in to one site, I keep getting the security warning saying it is an unsigned application (I tried a snapshot using snipping tool but it isn't accepted here). I have to check the block "accept the risk" before it will continue. It is in my vault and in the allowed list under Internet Options - Privacy.
Any ideas why I keep getting this and anything I can do to eliminate it?

If you are having security issues with a website you can perform a free real time check on the link below. There are other real time website scanners available if you would like to search the web for them.
If using the above comes up clean try deleting the browsing history and restarting the computer?
How to post an image in the Norton forum, link below. Please check that personal information is edited out this can be done using the paint programme see help and support from the start menu. Your image may take some time for a moderator to validate it, until then you will see a box with a triangle in it.
Is the warning you are getting about a problem with the website's certificate, or about a file you are trying to download? Sites can become infected at any time, but your description of the alert you are getting would seem to indicate some other issue rather than a bad site, per se.
It occurs only when I click on my desktop shortcut and when the log-in page opens, that alert comes up. If I don't accept it, I can't log-in. So far, I've had no problems accepting it. That is the only one that I get that alert on. That's why I made my post because it is puzzling to me. I've used that same shortcut for years and it just started appearing a few months ago.
I appeciate the info provided here.
I'm about to do a complete restoral on my computer, so I'll see if it happens after that.
Is it a certificate warning? That's what it sounds like - a notice telling you that a problem with the site's certificate is preventing the browser from verifying that the site is secure. That would have nothing to do with your computer unless you get those warnings on all encrypted sites (which can happen if your system clock is incorrect). You'll need to be more specific about the message you are seeing.
Ok. Used the link to check the site using sucuri. It says it is Verified clean and not blacklisted, but, in red says "unable to properly scan your site, unable to connect.".
As for the alert, it says "Do you want to run this application? (Exclamation mark in yellow caution sign). An unsigned application from the location below is requesting permission to run", then it shows the location URL. Below that in red:
Running unsigned applications like this will be blocked in a future release because it is potentially unsafe and a security risk.".
Below that is Select the box below, then click run to start the application.
If I click "I accept the risk and want to run this app.", then Run, the site opens normally.
FYI. I tried to upload a snapshot of the two items, but PNG is not accepted here and I don't have the software to convert to accepted file exts.
I know it doesn't have anything to do with my computer and that is why I was wondering why this is the only site I'm getting this on. I am restoring my computer for other reasons (pages don't want to load, load partially, long boot and load times, etc.)
If you can post the image it would be worth looking at.
Can you provide the URL of the site causing the problems?
To speed up the computer.
Run MBAM
Run c cleaner.
Defragment the hard drive if it’s not a SSD.
Use the information below.
The link below need the basic version downloaded not the trial or the pro the same when installing to avoid any real time protection which should be turned off as it can conflict with your security software. To download latest version top RHS of page. Install and get updates. The site for the downloads of the software is OK but don’t click on the adverts.
C cleaner has two useful buttons, cleaner and registry, cleaning the registry can cause serious problems so it is best to leave it alone.
On the left hand pane of the cleaner user interface there are check boxes that can be unchecked so that the files in these locations will not be deleted.
C cleaner is freeware (5mb), you might like to do some research on the web about C cleaner?
What you are seeing is a notification from your Java program. The site you are visiting wants to run a Java applet and the program is warning you that the applet lacks a certificate. and therefore cannot be considered trustworthy. If you need the Java functionality on the site and know the applet is safe, you can accept the risk and run it, although this is not recommended (the warning is there for a reason, afterall). If you do not need to use whatever Java features the site has, do not run it. Best practice is to uninstall Java itself if you do not need it, or, go into the Java settings in the Windows Control Panel and disable it (and keep it disabled) in your browsers until you require it from time to time. Also, it is extremely dangerous to be running old versions of Java. Use the updater in the Java settings to check for updates and install any new version that is offered.
