Selecting a Keylogger or and Norton Family

OK, Hi All.  My first post.

I am parent and I am becoming concerned about my kids computer use.  I recently started looking at commerical Keyloggers but I am skeptical of them, as I am always afraid they could have some back-door or make it possible for someone to access passwords and other personal information.

So I came to the Norton website becuase I do have Norton 360 Premier Edition on my computer (which makes me feel a little safer) and I wanted to see if Norton had a product that I could install and use and trust but, at the same time, not make my computer vulnerable to attacks.

I do want a program and will log what is being typed in Chat rooms so I can monitor, and log websites visited.  I do not want other users (my daughter and nephew) to see the program icon in the Start Menu or Task Bar or in any other way become aware that the monitoring program is on the machine.

Does Northon have such a product.  I see Norton Onliine Family and Premier version, but I don't know if it does what I am describing.

Can someone provide clarification and, if Norton does not, provide recommendations for a safe alternative?  Is there a Norton 360 Compatible program that is recommeneded, well rated, and while doing what I described above, will not put me at risk.

Any help would be greately appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

I know different people have different ideas and different thoughts, but I want to inform you that Norton doesn't have a product to Spy on someone.. but as all software vendors, they do have inbulit spy mechanism.. which they use to deliver better products to the customer depending on what they need . So bascially they are doing this for a good reason not with wrong intensions . Like that when the situation demanded a program for parenting the kids in an effective manner, there evolved Norton's Safety Minder. It will not Spy but it will parent .. and you would be able to know whatever things, kids perform on the computer . Even if they disable the parental guard anyway you will be notified. I think it is the good way of parenting , informing the kids, rules are to obeyed will make them more aware of what they can do and they can't do.

Best Wishes,

Logic matters not the route!
