I had the same problem and yesterday while trying to install some software on a child's computer she ran out of time limit and I couldn't extend it because my credentials couldn't be checked by the server with the error. That really got me worrying about what would happen if there was a really urgent need to use the computer and the server would not allow me to get in and extend the time limit.
I am now having a problem with the online family account. I can log in but cannot look at any reports or access settings because I get a blocking message saying I need to download a new version of Safety Minder and put it on my children's computers. It seems unwilling to let me access reports or settings until I have done that.
It also seems like the time limits I set for my children have been changed by yesterday's distrubance in the force. The curfew has been moved forward so my child at home revising for exams is going to get cut off mid-afternoon. I can't do anything from my office because I can't get into online family.
feeling a bit frustrated! Hope things return to normal as soon as possible.
After a bit more experimentation I have come back here to qualify the last of my previous rants. I said: "I can't do anything from my office because I can't get into online family." It now turns out that I can get in but I cannot access the settings for the time the kids can spend on their computers. Online Family will not let me do this until I have updated the Safety Minder on each of the computers monitored. This is inconvenient as it is the one thing I want to do urgently. On the other hand it looks like there have been some impressive changes to the way time will be managed with the new version so hopefully it will be worth the patience the Online Family is forcing me to practice.
@bjm_ - what were you trying to do when you got that error message? Sorry I see that it is a sign - in message. Were you trying to activate something? were you doing DWM or backup?
