I was looking for the auto-created firewall rule mentioned by Apostolos in the long shutdown thread. What I found was that the Configure option created a Norton Autofix error message: “Error found. NS has encountered an error: 3040......”

The first time with 3040,10180068 the process ended with a screen telling me: “Repair Installation - Result Success”. The subsequent tests still gave me Error found and a screen telling me I had to contact support.
Fortunately I was able to resolve the issue: I just selected 'Firewall reset'. Once again my Norton Security seems to work in a pleasant way. I have not encountered the long shutdown issue, so I belong to the group of lucky users. However, this important issue gives me an uncomfortable feeling about NS; the silence from Symantec is causing discomfort.
