SOJ I got this same thing after Norton installed Behav&Heuristic updates. It was really getting bad. Tamper protection was blocking it’s own process of updating itself. You said this was common? First time I ever saw this! Read my post and see if that fixes things, it did mine.

I wanted to add that I set tamper protection to reboot, but Norton finished whatever it was doing and turned Tamper Protection back on by itself! Intelligent system . I had every process Norton has trying to update itself to reflect the B&H update. Really weird but its through.

also the password protection of version 5 will stop its function automatically !

 

You can edit firewall policy without password restriction !!

Are you using NIS/NAV/N360 2010 or 2011?  We've addressed extraneous logging with our latest SONAR update (Feb 28, 2011)
