Should I have 2 NIS.exe Programs Running

I am running Internet Security.  I noted having 2 NIS.exe programs running on both my desktop and laptop.  One is under System user name and other under Dennis user name.  Is this normal?  If not, is there a fix?  Thanks.

Hi dpsutton and welcome,

Yes, it is normal.

As you said one is for the system and the other for the user.

Hope this help.

As Sandro says - that is normal with the version 21 and later products.

There used to be ccsvchst.exe present for NIS (or NAV/N360) - butit was changed to Product specific.

FWIW, if you have Norton Zone installed, you will also see entires for nz.exe*32.

I was going to ask about the 2 nis.exe processes too, and found this thread just in time :)

For the record:

Hi natey2,
Thats right for a normally performing NIS in your normal system. You can do nothing for it. Its how NIS works!
