Should I Periodically Delete Norton Ghost 15.0 Back Up Folders

Hello.

I am using Norton Ghost 15.0. Norton Ghost 15.0 is configured to backup daily. I am concerned at the size of the backup folder. The Windows 7 Drive is, itself, approximately 74GBs in size, yet the Norton Ghost Backup Folder for the drive is 366GBs in size! There are C and E Symantec Image Files for Drive001 - Drive008. The timeframe goes back 30 days. Since the Drives are sequentially number I am reluctant to remove any pending my ability to gain an understanding of the daily backup procedure. Can I safely remove all but the most current pair of Symantec Image Files? Can I apply the same method to the backups for the System_Reserved Symantec Image files?

Thanks

Mike

Mike,

You only need to keep one image backup of the SRP as it doesn't change.

You can manually delete as many .v2i as you like. Ghost will complain but ignore the complaints.

Or... Just delete them through the Ghost GUI. Tasks > Manage Backup Destination. Then the history will stay correct and not complain about missing backups.

Thanks much. I thought as much, but wanted to be sure.

Thanks, that solved it.
