I would like some advice from the experts and gurus who have helped me in the past. I originally purchased and installed NIS 2009 in the fall of 2008. Whenever I had problems that I posted here, you folks have always provided me with sound advice and solutions - that's why I coming here again.
I have an HP desktop, Pentium III-933mhz, with 512 mb ram running XP SP3. NIS 2009 is the only security app I have. My version is 16.8.0.41. It is very light on my system resources and works well. When NIS 2010 came out, I was reluctant to upgrade for two reasons.
Initially I found that NIS 2009 had issues and problems - some solved by updates and patches, some solved by the advice of you experts - for which I'm very grateful. In reading the posts, I saw that when NIS 2010 was released, there were also numerous issues and I was hesitant to wait for fixes or ask for help from the forum. When my subscription came up for renewal, I opted to just renew NIS 2009 - since by that time it became a product that works well for me.
I now have 37 days left on my subsciption and need to make the decision to either renew NIS 2009 again, or go for the upgrade to NIS 2010. Based on what I've read, most of the bugs seem to have been fixed - but I'm concerned that the newer version may require more resources that NIS 2009 and slow my system down.
I'd greatly appreciate any and all comments and suggestions as to whether I should stick with what works, or go with the newer product.
Thank you.
