Hey, it's been a while since I stopped by. Hello to all!
I bought myself a new, faster internet computer - a Lenovo with 3GHz Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, Windows XP Pro. I uninstalled 360V3 off the old dinosaur I was using, downloaded 360v4 and installed it on the new computer. I'm very pleased. No trouble with the computer running slow. It's very quick. A welcome change from the glacially slow machine I'd been using.
However, I ran into one issue that I would like to find out if others are running into also. I did a search of the forum and didn't see anything that definitely sounded like the same thing. The issue is, when I'm done using the computer and I'd like to run a quick scan and have Norton 360 shut down the computer by clicking the "Shut Down Computer upon Completion" box on the scan page, when 360 finishes the scan, it seems to think I've canceled it, because it displays the same "Do you really want to cancel...?" message as when one hits the Cancel button while a scan is running. And then, of course, it does not shut my computer down. If I click Yes, then it does shut down.
I realize there is also the variable of the computer being new to me. Just wondering if others had run into this. The computer is fast enough, and there are few enough files on it (I bought this one just for e mail and paying bills and posting on message boards, not for storing stuff) that a full scan actually doesn't take long at all. I verified that the computer does shut down if I do a full scan and click "Shut Down Computer upon Completion".
I also timed a quick scan. A mere 15 seconds on this computer, compared to several minutes on my old one!
For now I'll just run a full scan after finishing up on the computer and have it shut down that way.
