@Sheriff-NT Hello. Although I do not use Norton Secure email here are some things for you to consider regarding your issue:
Edited: Please review this Norton article as well
AI Overview
Conflicts between Norton device security and T-Online (Telekom) email are often caused by Norton’s email antivirus scans, or mismatched email client server settings. [1, 2]
- Check T-Online Server Settings
Ensure your email program (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc.) matches T-Online’s official secure server settings: [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Incoming Mail (IMAP):
secureimap.t-online.de| Port: 993 | Security: SSL- Incoming Mail (POP3):
securepop.t-online.de| Port: 995 | Security: SSL or TLS- Outgoing Mail (SMTP):
securesmtp.t-online.de| Port: 465 or 587 | Security: SSL- Authentication: Requires authentication / your T-Online password. [1, 2]
- Disable Outgoing Email Scanning in Norton
If you receive emails but cannot send them, Norton’s outgoing scanner is often the culprit. To resolve this: [1, 2]
Open your Norton device security app.
Click Settings.
Go to Antivirus > Scans and Risks.
Under Email Antivirus Scan, click Configure.
Uncheck Scan outgoing email messages.
Click Apply and select Permanently. [1]
Verify Norton Email Certificates
If you get certificate errors saying the server is invalid or untrusted, Norton’s email protection may be conflicting. To fix this, you may need to export/import the Norton certificate or simply test if turning off “Email Antivirus Scan” entirely fixes the connection. [1, 2]
- Remove and Re-add Email Account
If the issue persists, remove your T-Online account from the Norton Safe Email dashboard and add it back to ensure all permissions are freshly granted and synced. If using the standalone Norton AntiTrack, open the dashboard in Chrome or Edge and check for stuck private email configurations. [1, 2, 3, 4]
For official step-by-step guides from Norton to fix certificate errors or general email issues, refer to the Norton Support center. For localized T-Online settings assistance, check the Telekom Hilfe page.

I cannot use Norton Safe Email, very old email client is not compatible.
But every day I get a warning on the task bar icon, usually “attention”. I tried to un-ignore it but no way to get rid of the warning.
Older version of Norton had a menu where if you chose disable forever the Antivirus stopped bothering (the spam function if I recall right…useless. )
Is there any way to stop the fake warning?
The pc has win7, anything I or Norton touch will stop working…. i’s past end of life…
