Hi,
Android v. 13 user–Samsung A03s.
On Mar 9, 2026 Norton 360 was working normally on my phone. On the morning of Mar 10 2026, I pushed the Connect to VPN button and nothing happened. Tried a number of times–nothing.
After a Google, I uninstalled the app and re-installed it. Now I can’t even log-in to the app with my credentials. The exact message is “We were unable to connect to the server. Please try again.” Followed by a long scroll of “[c: 3NsIGVycm9ylF…]” etc.
Is this related to the new update I see was released Mar 9? Could I expect it to resolve in the coming days/week or so? Norton 360 on my laptop is runs fine.
Thanks for your thoughts–sorry if this is in the wrong place. First time poster.

Are you able to connect to websites with your browser while having this server connection error? If not, have you tried accessing the web from another device on the same network? Maybe Restarting your modem/router will help with this issue.
Have you restarted your device? Just like a Windows PC, an occasional restart clears out garbage and caches.

Hi Peter, thanks for replying.
I have done multiple phone restarts and manually cleared caches as well… uninstall Norton, restart… install Norton, restart… every time it’s the same log-in “unable to connect to server” issue. I have restarted the router, the issue persists.
My phone works normally for accessing websites—it appears to be only the Norton app that has an issue. I would note that if I click the Activate Today button instead of sign-in, the app right away pops up subscription options I could choose (my subscription is still valid for many months).
I have tried clicking the Already Purchased? options and from there “Sign in to your account” and I have the same network error.

If you have a subscription you do not want the Activate Today. That takes you to the Google Play Store for that device to start a new subscription.
I suggest trying another reinstall of the app. Uninstall the app and then restart the device before reinstalling. Then reinstall and try again to sign in.

Hi Peter,
Thanks—yes, I knew I didn’t want Activate Today, but I was just letting you know other elements of the app seem to be working for in-app purchases.
I have tried another uninstall of the app, restart of the device, reinstall of the app. Clicking “Sign In” still results in a pop-up notification window saying “We were unable to connect to the server. Please try again.”

I just uninstalled 360 from my Samsung A15 on Android 16. Restarted and reinstalled 360 and did not have any issue with the Sign In process.
I’m in Canada. What country are you in? Maybe some local issue. The Status web page for Norton products shows all features are functioning.
One other thought. If you are using a VPN, try turning that off while you try to activate 360.

Hi Peter,
I’m in Canada, too. Ontario.
I’m not using a VPN—the only one I had was through Norton 360. What started this process in the first place was that the Norton 360 VPN was off and I tried turning it on, but pressing the button did nothing.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy A03s with Android 13.
I appreciate your thoughts on fixing this. Maybe in time the issue will resolve itself as inexplicably as it appeared.
I will be switching to another antivirus/VPN provider when this subscription ends.
Thank you again.

I had thios problem today with N 369 app and the PW Vault.
I did all you did and no progress. Uninstalled both and reinstalled PW vault and it worked fine, from the shortcut in the vault I went to play store.
Reinstalled N 360 and still cannot connect to server.
Sorry I cannot help (Canada as well).
There is something odd here as I just did a reinstall from Canada with no issue.
Maybe time to contact Norton Support for help with this. They have the ability to connect to your device so they can see what might be causing the connection issue.
If using the chat option when you can enter information enter “agent please” to get connected to a human.
Having same problem on my Galaxy A42 5G, deleted/reDownloaded-installed same issue. I am located in US.
I have escalated this thread to try to get some Norton eyes on this issue.
