NIS 2010 (will move to NIS 2011 this weekend)
Vista Home premium 2 bit OS with Vista SP 2
Noticed in history that last night outbound firewall rules were created on thier own for
javaw.exe
Nobody was actively using the computer at the time.
I know that javaw.exe is part of Java. now this exe was located in the correct folder.
I did install the lastest Java 6 update, but that was 3 days prior and the computer has been on and internet connected since.
When the firwall rule was created last night, there was no corresponding running/initiation of the javaw.exe
The notification just indicated that outbound firewall rules were created It showed my current assigned IP address from my ISP along with some high number port (like in 55xxx)
BUT NO OTHER IP address as in connecting
I know that sometimes malicious activity can be done through Java
Now my full norton system scan showed clean this morninng
so does the unititiated outbound firewall rule for javaw.exe sound likely to be malicious to all you smart folks here?
