Silent Mode does not revert to default settings

Hi Sea_Monster,

These settings are in the upper right corner of the Main UI. They are green buttons which will turn red and give you a drop down box to select the time period. I gather you are to choose just one to turn off.

I would unplug from the internet during this time just to be safe.

Although I don't want to speak for someone else, I think LynnH is trying to test your timers.

If you can't find them I'll post a screen shot.

Thank you Phil_D,

I shall try it at home tonight and post whatever results.  If I come across any problems, I will let you know too.

You're the GREATEST. Thank you again.

Hi Sea_Monster,

Please do the following steps to turn off Advanced Protection:

1. Right click on tray icon.

2. Select "Open Norton Internet Security"

3. Under Computer section, turn off Advanced Protection. A dialog should pop up asking you to select a duration. Select 1 hour.

4. After one hour, please launch NIS UI via tray icon again, check status to see if Advanced Protection is turned back on.

By the way, your system is still protected with AntiVirus and Firewall.

Thanks,

- LynnH

Dear Lynn,

No Problems, I turned off the ADVANCE PROTECTION for 1hr and it did turn on after that.

Whew !!! I think there are no problems with my timing.

BTW, can I view the timings in History, if yes, how?

Thank you

Hi Sea_Monster,

Thank you for testing out the Advanced Protection feature. I will send you a private message and will keep you posted on the progress of the issue.

Best Regards,

- Lynn

Dear All,

This thread has been resolved.  There was not a problem with the silent mode in NIS2009.  Apparently, I had not turn ON on one of my machine when I was ripping.

Thank you to all......

Did you set a timer?
