Since Norton Security 25.4.10068 was applied a few days ago, April 30, 2025, Norton 360 won’t launch. It just keeps cycling like it is getting ready to open but doesn’t.
In addition, many of my applications won’t open, others crash, and Windows File Explorer stalls or won’t open most of the time, etc.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to no avail. I even tried disabling Norton’s Auto Protect and Smart Firewall but this has no effect.
This issue exists whether I’m in my preferred Google Chrome or MS Edge browser.
Has anyone else had these problem? I am running on Windows 11 desktop. Is there any way to uninstall this release? After being a loyal customer for over 10 years, I’m now considering whether to renew my Norton subscription.
Thank you for any insight that you can provide.

Have you restarted your computer a couple of times since the update? Restart, not shutdown and startup again.
Peterweb,
Thank you for your response.
Yes, I tried everything, including a restart, a cold start, clearing cookies, etc., but nothing worked. Interestingly, this afternoon Norton 360 launched. I looked at the definition stats and saw where one was applied today. Apparently, that resolved the issue with 360 launching.
Also, not all apps are now freezing but I still have an issue with a few of them. Hopefully, Norton will fix this issue as well.
I have been reluctant to run the Removal and Install tool thinking it may cause additional problems. I may rethink that if this issue isn’t completely resolved within the next few days.
Thank you for your response, SoulAsylum!

Tak for dit svar, Globus5000,
