I am having a problem on two of my PC's with norton 360. For a while i thought it was my router thatwas blocking seeding applications such as the one used by World of Warcraft and had decided that there was nothing i could do about it because i had tried everything. But last night i finally got my copy of Windows 7 (which i am having the same problem on my laptop which is running windows Vista and another PC which is running XP) and I installed it and updated it. On this new install i formatted the hard drive and of course had to reinstall everything including Norton 360 and My World of Warcraft program. Last night i started the download for world of warcraft before i started the 360 install and it was downloading at approx. 500kbps. After the install however i am hardly seeing dowload speeds over 200kbps. I am also having problems with other programs that have Peer downloading as a basic service and they all say "Your computer appears to be behind a Firewall" and i have very slow download speeds (i'll usually be lucky to see 70kbps) can someone help me through this problem please?
I should also add that i have tried added exceptions for the programs manually through nortons firewall settings all the way down to setting up port ranges for the applications use. I have also done the same on my router and still have the ports open for these programs, also made sure that all programs having this problem (just to make sure) had allow instead of auto.
Can you try disabling the firewall in Norton 360 and then check whether that makes any difference. If it does, configure the Firewall to allow your world of warcraft program. You can get the steps to modify your firewall in this document:
I have disabled the firewall for 15 minutes and left it disabled for the full 15 minutes just to see if that would work, but alas still downloading at around 180kbps-200kbps. i do not have this problem if
1. It is a relatively small file being downloaded through the Peer to Peer software
2. it is not through Peer to Peer software (such as through Mozilla)
As i said (just to clarify) i am just having the problem when trying to connect to peers in one of these networks
