My computer is very slow to start up; is there an easy fix for this without buying more software? A message from one of the online services indicated junk files and COM/Active X files were problems. My Norton software does not seem to sort this out when a SCAN is run periodically. doug

Thanks, it was very easy to follow your link and instructions. It seems somewhat faster; 50 seconds from turning the computer on to the password page. Also, somehow I found the start items and removed all but Norton and windows.
Hi Doug,
Thank you for reverting back with the status and I am happy to see that your computer is little bit faster now.
Other suggestions from me to keep your computer from clutter :
Do the Disk Cleanup once in a Month along with Disk Deframentation so that you can delete the junk files away from your computer and if there any disk errors, disk defragmentation will help fix it.
