Smart Scan on laptop computer...but not on desktop computer? Why not?

My laptop computer, a Toshiba running WinX, has Norton Security with LifeLock, version 22.21.2.50.  My desktop computer--an HP also running WinX--also has Norton Security with LifeLock, same version (22.21.2.50).

The laptop computer's Norton shows Smart Scan on both Home screens (My Norton and Classic).  However, the desktop computer doesn't...even though the Norton Security with LifeLock versions are (it appears) identical!  Right down to the same Serial Number (since the laptop's Norton Security is part of the 5-device option I purchased).

Both programs have been Live Updated (obviously, since the version numbers are the same), and they have both been checked to be sure they are the latest version (which, I suppose, is also obvious...lol).

But can anyone explain to me, why one program would show Smart Scan, and one program would not?  Seems rather bizarre...  It's nothing critical; I would just like to know why Smart Scan doesn't appear on both of them.

Furthermore, even if I might have installed each copy from different sources (one through Amazon, the other through Norton...and I don't recall if I did that or not), shouldn't Live Update "catch" that one has Smart Scan, and the other doesn't?  (And for what it's worth, My Norton Account does show both devices.)  Thanks in advance~
