Smart Update

I keep getting a message that Core Product files have been modified please run smart update or install the product. I just installed 360 the first of March 2020 why am I getting this message? I have run smart update several times and I keep getting it. I also was getting this on my old Norton that I replaced. Thank you for your time.

I recently downloaded Norton Utilities, so my version is the latest one. Whenever I access Smart Update it gives me a list of umpteen foreign languages but no English. Is there an English "Update"; where is it ?

Hallo,

:smileywink:

Viele Grüße

Hans-Joachim

Oh.....Norton Utilities.

Thanks @Krusty13

This is a known bug with Norton Utilities 16. There has been no response from Symantec other than this post.

@SoulAsylum - can you help.

When I get the message it tells me to do Smart Update. So I do and get there are no new updates.

Um, does this help. I'm not Core familiar. Lets hear from Community.

Hi everyone,

From time-to-time, the Norton Core team releases firmware updates to your Norton Core router. This thread will list the Release Notes of the latest updates released by the Norton Core team.

To check if you have a new firmware update available, please follow the below procedure:

 1. Launch the Norton Core app.

 2. On the top-left corner, tap the menu icon.

 3. Tap Settings.

 4. Scroll down the Settings menu and tap About.

 5. Under Firmware Version, tap Update Available. (If your firmware is current it will say Up to date.)

You may be prompted to reset the Norton Core router to update the firmware.

In the confirmation screen, tap Yes.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

After the firmware update is complete, you are prompted to sign in with your Norton account credentials.
