Hi Guys (hard at work),
I'm not sure if you have seen this article: http://blogs.zdnet.com/Apple/?p=4716 but a friend of mine showed me after hearing my norton woes to see if it would help. I'm always up for some fun so I edited the file described so I load up with a 64b kernel and extensions instead of the default.
After I rebooted I got this error message (also for subsequent reboots):
Error:
The Vulnerability Protection engine has been corrupted and could not be used. You should run LiveUpdate immediately. If the problem persists please try re-installing this product.
Your computer will not be protected until you re-install. Symantec apologizes for this error. (Error location 2)
I'm going to try and reconfigure the .plist to not load 64b and see if it comes back.
Edit: I reconfigured the file to default and rebooted and this error did not return so perhaps the file isn't truly corrupted as much as it may not be compatible with the 64b kernel + extensions loading? Anyway just more fun to throw your way. :)
Thank you,
Israel Torres
