If this doesn’t work, you shold try get get support by phone, so you can talk with them and understand each other better, especially when they are accessing your PC by remote. The online remote support can be terrinbly frustrating and time consuming…I never use that anymore, not that I have had the need for a long time anyway.

Hi Stu,

I watched two Symantec representatives do that (they were on remote access and used the NRT and then tried to reinstall NIS 2008) approximately 3 million times. The last rep disconnected from my machine last night at 1am, with no success. There is stll no NIS installed on my machine. This morning I have called the help number 5 times (so far) and there is no answer (it just keeps ringing untill the call times out). Can someone wake me from the nightmare???

Where are you located, I will give you the correct number to phone for assistanxce in this matter.

ps  Apologies for the ridiculous spelling errors in my prevoius post, however they were not apparent when I previewd  my post.

Do you mean what country? I'm in the US.

Thanks.

Error codes 3035,2 and 3035,6 indicate that the virus definitions are corrupt or missing. I would recommend downloading the latest set of definitions from our web site. That should solve the problem.

Symantec Virus Definitions

I have a 3 user license and have had nothing but problems on 2 of my systems.  At first everything worked great and then activation issues and now every time I click scan it takes me to a help file.  Norton Removal Tool, I have used it several times and it does not help.  It will not entirely remove Symantec software from your system.  You must enter your registry and manually remove it.  If you are not familiar go to live chat and after a couple of hours and several retries they will finally do it for you.

Hi community,

I started getting pop-up errors a few days ago (3035,2 and 3035,6). I followed the links to the Symantec pages that take you through the fix executables and restarts. Nothing worked. Then I got on the live chat and a representative took control of my machine for 3 hours. From what I could tell, they uninstalled Norton (I have Internet Security 2007) and tried to reinstall IS 2008. They repeated this install/uninstall several times. Then eventually they disconnected from my machine with no messages and no Norton software installed. I am currently trying to install NIS 2008 and I have a feeling it will fail because it says it is sending error information to Symantec. I also tried to get back onto the live chat help and I get a message that there is an error and to try again later. Can someone help me? Did I do something to piss off the Norton gods? They are punishing me!

Thanks much, TL

Please try this for yourself

download and run the Norton Removal Tool

Than reboot

than install NIS again
