SONAR quarantines files that are already excluded

Hi All...

I had this problem...case number XXXXXXXX...and the KB20090903182949EN solved it for now.

However, I think some additional changes would be beneficial.

I would like to view my list of SONAR exclusions, just like I can view Scan Exclusions and Signature Exclusions.

I would like a way to proactively populate the exclusion list, rather that waiting until NAV eats my program and then restore it.

I am assuming that when I restore a program eaten by SONAR, you save a hash or checksum of it, that you do not just do the exclusion by name. So I am concerned that when I update to a newer version of the program, SONAR will eat it again, and I will have to repeat the process. I am also concerned that when SONAR is updated, it may eat a program that it previously ignored. This may disable my system, so that I can not access it remotely.

So, I would like to specify a list of programs, with wildcards or by directory that I trust, and have SONAR leave them alone. SONAR could then exclude each file specified, or each file in the directory, from scans. I would not expect SONAR to ignore files added to the directory at a future time, unless I exclude them at that time.

When I update my software, I could repeat this process, so that newer versions remain safe from SONAR. If some files specified are unchanged form the last time I excluded them, I would expect that to cause no problem.

Thanks,

...Karl
