Dear Norton Community,
I'm not sure if this is a problem for developers in general or just Objective CAML, but I do quite a bit of work with it and it's flagging the compilers and other exectuables as security risks. Obviously this is annoying since I have to whitelist every executable, and probably will have to do so again if I change versions.
I am turning off SONAR for now.
In fact, this is why I stopped using Avira Antivir, because it would flag every ocaml and ocaml compiled program as a virus. At least Norton's SONAR lets me use a whitelist, and at least SONAR doesn't flag every program I compile as a security risk (though it did flag at least one program I compiled so far).
I'm not sure I consider this a problem with SONAR or not, since dev tools can be a little suspicious I suppose.
My installation of Objective CAML is version 3.11 compiled with Mingw, available here: http://caml.inria.fr/download.en.html
