Random crashes of Windows XP/SP3 occurred on my HP m7570n computer soon after I downloaded the NIS update. Since XP was set to restart automatically after crashes, continuing normally there after, I had no idea why the crashes occurred. Then, as advised by Windows experts, I set XP not to restart but to show the BSOD and save memory minidumps. The BSODs and minidumps were subsequently reviewed by windows experts and they told me that NIS driver files (BHDrvx86.sys and SYMEFA.sys) are the likely culprits. I was trying to get Norton expert comments, but there seems to be no way to reach any such experts without having to pay US$ 99.99 for that service in advance. I don't believe I should pay for getting advice on fixing a Norton/Symantec issue. Thus, I am asking the community for help on what to do now. Does anyone know if Norton has a fix for that? How to get it? How to download, upgrade, install and run such fix? Failing that, I am afraid I have no choice but to uninstall NIS all together, which I am not yet willing to do at the present time.
I would be thankful for any advice
P.S.. If anyone desires, I can provide additional information about my system and the crashes.
(I just hope I can get this post out before the next crash........)
