My wife has outlook on her PC & most often uses the e-mail on her Android phone.
Our e-mail provided by a subscribed service using a MAPI connection to OUTLOOK on her PC; not free web service like hot mail..
Today 2 strange things happened
A business associate of hers(Ron) received an e-mail with the subject line FW:Fwd: to Ron
which contained 1 line ..
"thought you might be interested in this with a link to a ".ru" web site
The from line had my wife's name but e-mail link attached to it was from a .outlook.com address.
also today an similar e-mail arrived from a friend of my wife's into her spam folder (no sure if Ron's e-mail caught it)
Subject line the same format FW: Fwd: to <my wife's name
from name her friend but again an outlook.com e-mail link
same text ion the message again pointing to a ".ru" website..
I do not think her e-mail has been compromised the address book is only on her PC which is protected with Norton 360
Send e-mails are not kept on the server..
read e-mails are deleted off of the server 2 days after download
So in the mix is Ron & my wife's e-mail and hew friend's name
Ron and my wife communicate infrequently... not on the last 6 weeks..
her friend and her communicate fairly often on e a week or 2 but mostly on facebook
How did they get these e-mail addresses & names that are only linked through my wife..
