Does anyone know if Norton 360 scans for SpyEye Trojan. Net Gear said I have it. I have Norton 360 windows.
And I would say your encounter with the "tech" was a scam from what you describe.
I agree with this statement. I hope you did not pay any money to this tech. If you did, I would contact my bank or credit card company and dispute the charge.
Norton most likely will scan for Spyeye. You can always download and run the free Malwarebytes scanner to check also. What makes you think you have this keylogger? Anything other than what the "tech" told you?
And I would say your encounter with the "tech" was a scam from what you describe.
Sorry for the delay.
I was trying to install a NetGear EX7000 wifi extender. A NetGear Tech Support webpage had a tech call me which sounded like a India man or Pakistan man. Caller ID showed from Amarillo Texas. The tech had me connect my computer to him over the Internet and he ran a (trouble shoot) file in the DOS window and at the end said I had 38 Ip’s who were monitoring my computer. But then he directed me to a SSl webpage and tried to sell me a SSL service. You tell me, scam or not? This was suppose to be a NetGear tech. Unconformable I passed and shut down and shut off my computer and then later that night I did a Norton 360 full scan. Result = No problems detected.
Later I went into NetGear and registered the EX7000 on NerGear's website. I tried again to install the EX7000 and it did install. So far has worked much better than A OLDER NetGear EXTENDER that I replace with the EX7000. But not perfect performance.
Since then I have got a call from what sounded like a India man or Pakistan man who tries to talk about my"router" ID and location being my IP address.
He gave his company as Ex_________ something. He was hard to understand. He said the company EX_______ controlled all wifi devices on the internet. But he was very confusing to me.
Things just didn't sound right to me. But I know we are in a new age with 5G and etc in today's world.
Still wondering about SpyEye.
How did Net Gear notify you of this? If by email, it is definitely a scam.
