SRD (Symantec Recover Disk) unknown exception due to lack of memory?

I've researched a bunch on the forum as well as experimented with my recently difficultly restored computer.

It seems that the unknown exception while the SRD is searching for recovery points is due to a lack of memory.  The error I was getting was "The exception unknown exception (0xC0000417) occurred in the application at location 0x008e0abe."

So if you get this error, try anything you can think of to reduce the memory needs of the program.  I had a large number of disks with an even large number of partitions.  On a prior recovery attempt last month, I didn't have so many disks, but I had a very large number of recovery points on my external drive.  I solved my recent problem by unplugging disk data cables only during the recovery process.  I never solved the problem last month, but then I didn't know what I know now -- in the same boat again I would use the analyze/explore computer option to go rename a bunch of recover points to non-recovery point sounding extensions, in hopes that this would reduce the memory needed by the search.

TO SYMANTEC: Fix this, you  (xxxooo)!  It seems fairly obvious that this is an out-of-memory condition, at least for the instances I have been encountering.  First, can you please recreate it using knowledge from above, and then make the error message something meaningful so that the customer is given a clue as to how to proceed.  In addition, my computer had 32GB of ram.  So it wasn't that type of memory that was low.  Perhaps you can figure out how to increase the amount of memory available to the problem.  But most importantly, I believe it may help to NOT automatically search for recovery points.  Instead, at least as an option, let the user manually search.  This will prevent you from running out of memory during the search.  And when I did an explore, I was able to do so.  But I couldn't invoke the recovery from exploring.  However you fix this, please make it so that someone unfamiliar with the problem, who encounters the problem, is properly led to a solution by appropriate error messages, help messages, and options to take.  Thanks very much.
