I’m still unable to generate secure passwords with the feature that is provided in Identity Safe on my IOS devices. When I try to use it, I’m asked to install Identity Safe, even in the Identity Safe Browser. For the last couple of months I’ve had to go to my laptop whenever I neeed to create or change a password. When I first noticed it, Norton phone support said it was a known issue.
Glad you found the feature in your ID Safe app.
The browser web page prompting you to download the app has no way of knowing if you already have the app installed.
As you can see in the attached file I have three Norton apps installed including ID Safe. If I tap the download button, I get the display in the lower part of the attached. Since you persisted, I looked in the settings portion of the app and found the Password Generator there. For others who haven’t been aware of that, look in the gear symbol to find the Password Generator.
Sorry. I misunderstood you were saying you were using a mobile browser to access the ID Safe web site.
Recent changes to the ID Safe web site have made access from mobile browsers unavailable. You need to download the ID Safe app onto your mobile devices and use the password generator from there. That is why you only see the download button.
There has been no information on whether the mobile access will be restored.
I’ve tried from safari, edge, and the Identity Safe browser on the iPad. It gives the same download screen on all three. It also fails to work on my iPhone. Like I said in the original post, I’ve talked with Norton support a couple of months ago, and they said it’s a known issue. My question is how long before the issue is fixed. It works fine on windows devices
Are you accessing the password generator directly from the ID Safe app, or from some browser?
11.4.1 on an iPad 4 Mini. Up until a couple of months ago, it worked fine.
What IOS version do you have? I just tried on my older iPad 3 on IOS 9 and the password generator seems to work correctly from within the ID Safe app.
