Status of systems that received 22.5.0.120 via LiveUpdate

Now that Norton/Symantec have hopefully had some time to analyse what went wrong with the aborted release of 22.5.0.120 via LiveUpdate we need to get some clarification on:

1) The exact status of systems that received 22.5.0.120 via LiveUpdate.
2) What further actions Norton/Symantec will be taking to sort out the mess.

The summary information provided so far is:

"- in reviewing the issues seen, the update process seems to be a large part of the problem, as opposed to the updated product itself.
- in light of the previous information, we're recommending that those currently on 22.5 to run the Norton Removal Tool, then go to Norton Management to download & install version 22.5 again. It won't be an update - it will be a full install of the product."

This is helpful information but still leaves some open questions.

There are indications from other threads that users that have removed the product and then performed a full installation of 22.5.0.120 have noticed some differences in behaviour e.g. 'Check for new version' has reappeared.

It seems likely that there will be a significant number of people that received 22.5.0.120 via LiveUpdate and got past the "Your trial Version has expired, you need to activate it now” problem (and possibly some altered settings).
Norton Security then seems to be working OK as far as they can tell and they may not be reading this forum.

Based on the information that Norton/Symantec now have about what went wrong with the LiveUpdate delivery process can they now make any statements about the status of systems that received 22.5.0.120 via LiveUpdate (and have not subsequently uninstalled and performed a full install)?

Specifically:
a) Is Norton Security performing its key security & protection functionality?
b) What functionality differs from a full installation of 22.5.0.120? (e.g. 'Check for new version' is missing?)

If there is some shortfall in functionality from a full installation of 22.5.0.120 then what further actions will Norton/Symantec be taking to resolve this problem for these users (given that if they don't read this forum they are unlikely to go on to perform a full installation of the product)?

For example, will Norton/Symantec be able to use a future LiveUpdate to bring these users up to the same status as a full installation?
If so, is there any timeframe for this?
