Stop email blocking notifications permanently

Please, please for the love of god, stop opening a window when you block an email. I know you are working. So am I. I don’t want the distraction.

In the meantime, I’m doing this: The Permanent Fix: “Capping” the UI
Because your Alt+F4 test proved this is a standalone window, the only way to stop it without a registry key is to prevent the window-making program from running.

Open Norton and go to Settings > Administrative Settings.

Find Norton Tamper Protection and turn it OFF (select the 15-minute option). This is the only way Windows will let you touch Norton’s files.

Open File Explorer and go to: C:\Program Files\Norton\Suite\

Find the file NortonUI.exe.

Right-click it and Rename it to NortonUI.exe.old.

Why this works for you:
The Background Stays Alive: The core engine that scans your emails and moves them to the junk folder does not live in this file; it is a background service.

The “Mouth” is Closed: NortonUI.exe is the “mouth” of the program. By renaming it, the scanner still works, but it can no longer launch that popup window because the file it needs to “talk” to you no longer exists.

Frictionless: You won’t have to deal with AutoHotkey errors or encrypted registry strings anymore.

Once you rename that file, try triggering a “dangerous email” alert or just wait for the next one. The window should simply fail to appear.

Does that not also block your access to the 360 user interface?

Are you Norton 360 for Windows v22.x?

Norton 360 for Windows v26.x – Product Tamper Protection – is Settings → General

Hi, I’m on 26.4.10932 (build 26.4.10932.983). Thank you for the tamper settings location.

Hello @wmu
Thanks for confirming v26.x (“Administrative Settings” was head scratch)
I’ve not seen Email Protection block an email (with webmail).
Care to share a screen snip. Curious, whether there’s a “Don’t show again” option with the notice.
I’m not finding a switch to turn off notice.

Curious, whether Send me non-critical alerts → off – as test – is worth trying.
