STOP interrupting my games! How do I disable ALL Norton notifications?

Hi,

I’m using Windows 11 with Norton 360 Deluxe, and I’m trying to work out how to completely disable every single Norton notification that can possibly appear on my screen.

This is becoming seriously annoying.

Recently, whenever I’m playing Battlefield 6 (see attached screenshot), or any other game, Norton decides that the exact worst possible moment is the perfect time to throw a huge pop-up on my screen telling me that I apparently need to clear some old files, optimise something, or deal with some other completely irrelevant piece of “advice”.

I genuinely do not care.

I’ve already gone through the notification settings and disabled everything I can find, but clearly there are still some notifications buried somewhere that Norton thinks I absolutely need to see. And naturally, they seem to appear when I’m in the middle of a game, usually at the most inconvenient and infuriating possible moment.

So, can someone please tell me exactly which settings I need to change to stop Norton from displaying ANY notifications whatsoever?

I mean ALL notifications. No pop-ups, no recommendations, no “your PC could be better”, no reminders, no promotional rubbish, no random messages about clearing files. Nothing.

And before someone suggests Silent Mode: no, using Silent Mode for 12 hours or whatever is not an acceptable solution. I don’t want to have to remember to enable it every time I start gaming. Why is there apparently no option to simply tell Norton:

“Stop bothering me. Permanently.”

I’ve paid for the software. I want it to quietly do the job I’m paying it for without interrupting whatever I’m doing on my PC.

If there’s a setting I’ve missed, please point me towards it, because I’m getting very close to uninstalling Norton purely because of these ridiculous interruptions.

I have been using Norton 10+ years and put up with a lot of things i should not have too!
But this is the last thing i will put up with!
If this is not fixed soon i am uninstalling and switching to something else,
I have 2 computers with Win 10 and Win 11, are useless for gaming!

Same issue here. It is not possible to stop the popup nag messages. Every single day they nag to turn on unwanted features. Even when ALL notifications are muted for 24hrs, the nagging continues. It’s not a problem with your install, it’s a problem with their lack of respect for their customers.

Same here… always at the same time at night (00:54), no matter what I’m doing. Gaming, watching YouTube… always pops up right in the middle of my screen it’s so annoying.

McAfee used to be included with my ISP but no longer. It did it’s job. No annoying pop up windows. I decided to subscribe to Norton because it was a decent AV when I had it earlier but this is not the same service. It’s nothing but SPAM Pop ups now! As mentioned, intrusive pop ups during gaming and streaming. Annoying AF! I will looking at other options.

The last two nights, our TV viewing has been rudely interrupted at about 9:50PM by a Norton window popping up in the center of the screen, obscuring the TV picture. This, despite the fact that we are watching in full-screen mode. Norton used to have a “gaming mode,” where they would leave you alone if you were in full-screen viewing mode, is this no longer the case?

Yep, it sucks. Been a member for 10+ years and this is massively taking the piss.

You cannot complain properly to them as their online chat support feature doesn’t work at all. You ring them and get “disconnected”.

This forced marketing should not be allowed when we have already subscribed for the service level we want.

Extremely annoying!! They seem to have recently gone nuts with these popups! This whole problem with adds, popups, scams, etc., needs to be addressed with some strict laws with severe costs to those that abuse them. We need more opt-ins and less opt-outs.

fwiw ~ my understanding:
Norton released a backend fix for the Automatic UI Opening issue. Please run LiveUpdate and Restart the system to get the fix applied.

Same here… started about a week ago-ish.

Every night around 9:00 PM (UK time) application pop-up window occurs irregardless of what I’m doing. This is especially annoying when I’m rendering in Octane. To say it turns my bladder into a fusion reactor is an understatement…

When this is combined with the fact that Norton is deleting my application rules (blocking) every day really just makes me want to move provider.

Even though I have just started a new sub I will move as I am not prepared to fight with an application I am paying money for…
